Information for Funders

Work with Qaujisaqtiit Society and establish your presence in the North on a wide range of unique social, economic and cultural priorities. Qaujisaqtiit Society (pronounced Khow-yee-sak-teet) is a registered charity composed of six key non-profit Inuit organizations working to advance the well-being and interests of the Inuit of Nunavut. We believe the consortium's collaborative approach will reduce duplication of efforts and provide the best return on investment of available resources to create positive change in Nunavut. As the lead organization, Qaujisaqtiit Society enjoys a depth and broad range of experience in non-profit management and provides its members, at no cost, with an array of important supports including:

  • project/program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • financial management, reporting and overall accountability to funders
  • identification of synergies and opportunities for strategic collaboration

Based in Ottawa, Qaujisaqtiit Society is readily and conveniently accessible to key 'southern' stakeholders - other Inuit and aboriginal organizations, federal government policy-makers and, of course, foundation and corporate funding bodies. At a September 2005 meeting of the Qaujisaqtiit Society Board of Directors, the Society passed a resolution adopting the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy's Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code as its policy to demonstrate to donors that the Qaujisaqtiit Society has met an independent standard of ethical behaviour and accountability. Here's a partial list of important goals for which Qaujisaqtiit Society is seeking support. We welcome your feedback and ideas as to how we can best achieve our vision.
